Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area (HFHGC) is an ecumenical Christian non-profit organization focused on housing solutions and neighborhood revitalization that benefits families and individuals in Chattanooga through home repairs, new construction and other direct services.

Job Summary

Reporting to the ReStore Manager and ReStore Assistant Manager, it is the responsibility of the ReStore Receiving Associate to move and load heavy furniture and appliances in the store, assist donors with the unloading of donations, assist customers with the loading of purchases, and occasionally act as loading assistant as part of the donation pick-up service.

Duties

  • Greet customers, answer questions, and provide assistance loading their purchases

  • Greet donors, assist with unloading donations and receiving them into the store

  • Unload donation truck and move donated items to the store

  • Assist on the truck as necessary

  • Maintain order of items being housed outside

  • Direct pricing and operation questions to ReStore Manager or Assistant Manager

  • Regularly communicate with ReStore Manager or Assistant Manager regarding merchandise issues and problems

  • Assist in stocking the store with properly priced inventory and in keeping the sales and storage areas organized in a clean, attractive manner

  • Exhibit positive working attitude by demonstrating respect for fellow workers, donors, and customers

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule Tuesday-Saturday

  • Perform other tasks as requested by the ReStore Manager or ReStore Assistant Manager to facilitate a positive customer and volunteer experience at the ReStore

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • At least 1 year of experience in Retail and/or Customer Service

  • Ability to consistently lift 75-100lbs+, primarily furniture and appliances

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Background check and drug screen required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to drive a fork-lift preferred but not required

Work Schedule: Part time, varying schedule but generally between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday-Saturday
