Description

Reporting to the Director of Construction of HFHGC, the Critical Home Repair Manager works on the job sites for all HFHGC construction programs to ensure the timely and quality completion of construction projects designed to create and retain permanent housing and homeownership opportunities for lower income persons in the area.

 In addition to other duties as assigned, the Critical Home Repair Manager will be responsible for supervising reporting staff and volunteers (including Crew Leaders) through positive direction and training.  The Critical Home Repair Manager will have direct contact with homeowners, other staff members, volunteers, subcontractors and board/committee members. 

Duties

·        Works directly on home repair sites to ensure completion of quality and timely work

·        Oversees the Critical Home Repair Schedule for each house or project, scheduling and monitoring the time and work of Habitat employees, subcontractors and volunteers

·        Completes home repair and other construction jobs/tasks as assigned

·        Coordinates with all onsite subcontractors to ensure completion of scheduled tasks

·        Works directly with homeowners to complete assessments, final checklists, job close-out documents and other necessary paperwork; ensures homeowner understanding and gathers signatures and proper filing of all legal paperwork

·        Assists with managing inventory, maintaining tools and equipment, and ensuring necessary supplies for each job as assigned

·        Maintains needed tools and supplies and loads for Construction vehicles/trailers in preparation for each assigned job; ensures necessary supplies and equipment are available and on site on set date

·        Manage and maintain equipment including vehicles and trailers to ensure they are running properly

·        Assists with ordering job material to ensure that necessary items are on site on set date.

·        Submits invoices, weekly worksheets, packing lists and receipts

·        Manage multiple projects at one time

·        Ensures that the warehouse and tool closet remain clean and organized

·        Oversees the safety and well-being of all job sites as assigned by the Director of Construction by practicing safe work practices and standards, ensuring the quality of all construction and adhering to appropriate Earth Craft, LEED and Energy Star standards

·        Maintains job sites in a manner that reflects a commitment to good stewardship and community partnership

·        Request Environmental Reviews for projects to be scheduled for critical home repair

·        Maintain and complete reports for Critical Home Repair & Aging in Place Projects (where applicable).

·        Serve as a back-up as needed on New Construction projects

·        Attends weekly Construction meetings to discuss projects and schedules

·        Order Gifts-In-Kind from Habitat for Humanity International as needed

 

Required Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in related field or related professional experience

·        Successful Project Management experience

·        Successful experience in supervising and leading families and volunteers, directing successful teams, and meeting program objectives

·        Demonstrated ability in training, managing, leading, and developing people

·        Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email

·        Initiative and independent action demonstrated in handling tasks assigned

·        Background check and drug screen required
