Home Builders Blitz 2019

Habitat Chattanooga is excited to announce our partnership with Pratt Home Builders as the sponsor of the 2019 Home Builders Blitz!

Pratt Homebuilders will build for future homeowner, Micheala, in the Villages at Alton Park. Michaela has a teenage daughter, disabled son, and one-year old grandson. She is currently working full time and attending school at Chattanooga State. This will be an accelerated build during the month of September and will take part in Homebuilders Blitz Week.

History

What is Home Builder’s Blitz?  Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz engages professional builders to help people in need of affordable housing in communities throughout the U.S. Since it began in 2002, this national program has helped families in hundreds of communities while demonstrating the value of partnering with those families to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

Home Builders Blitz was founded by Raleigh, North Carolina, builder Tom Gipson, who believed that homebuilders wanted to help Habitat for Humanity, but their schedules weren’t a good fit for Habitat’s usual approach to building. To date, thousands of professional builders have participated. Once they get a taste of volunteering with Habitat, many of the builders want to stay involved. Some have joined the boards of Habitat in their community, and many have participated in multiple Home Builders Blitz builds
