Volunteer Positions

Marketing/Events:
Community Event Team Member: Promote Habitat for Humanity at one of the many other events held in the Chattanooga community. Spread the word about Habitat’s mission, upcoming events and opportunities to attract new volunteers and supporters.

Event Planner: Events are one of the most entertaining aspects of Habitat for Humanity. Engage the Chattanooga community to increase attendance and revenue at the multiple Habitat for Humanity Events.

Graphic Designer: Inspire other to get involved by creating eye catching, motivating design work to be featured in marketing material for Habitat for Humanity.

Marketing Advisor: Promote Habitat for Humanity and spread the word about substandard housing in Chattanooga. The Marketing Advisor will assist in the creation of a comprehensive marketing plan for all aspects of Habitat for Humanity.

ReStore Operations:
Annual Donation Drive Coordinator: Help the ReStore kick off the spring cleaning season with the Annual ReStore Donation Drive! The ReStore Annual Donation Drive Coordinator will assist the Director of ReStore Operations with promoting and logistics of the event.

Contractor Donation Recruiter: Support the Habitat for Humanity ReStore by encouraging and soliciting donations from local construction contractors.

Design Workshop Series Coordinator: Do you love to create amazing pieces of artwork out of “junk”? The Design Workshop Series Coordinator will create “Design on a Dime” ReStore style.

E-Bay Auctioneer: Are you a pro at selling unique items on Ebay? Help the Habitat for Humanity ReStore by selling one of a kind items on Ebay.

Volunteer Committee:
Hospitality Coordinator: You can never say thank you enough to volunteers! Help Habitat for Humanity recognize the hundreds of volunteers who contribute their time and hard work to making Chattanooga a better place for everyone. The Hospitality Coordinator assists the Director of Volunteers with appreciating volunteer service.

Retired Volunteer Coordinator: Connect with the growing community of retirees. The Retired Volunteer Coordinator will assist to develop relationships with current organizations serving retiree groups and provide opportunities for them to become a part of the Habitat for Humanity team.

Young Professionals Coordinator: Connect with the hundreds of young professionals working in Chattanooga. The Young Professionals Coordinator will assist to start an official Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals chapter which will result in implementing fundraising events and raising awareness of substandard housing in Chattanooga.

Youth United Coordinator: Provide the youth of Chattanooga with an opportunity to make a difference in their community! The Youth United Coordinator will coordinate local schools and youth organizations to create an official Youth United program.

Family Services:
Family Advocate: Support the homeowner family (referred to as partner families) by empowering them through home ownership. The family advocate recognizes the family as part of God’s creation and relates to them holistically, respecting the values and individuality of each family member.

Family Selection Committee Member: Assist Habitat for Humanity to find potential Partner Families through the application process and make recommendations of families for Habitat homes, as well as to approve families for homes.

Family Support Committee Chairperson: The chairperson is committed to carrying out the stated purpose of the committee and Habitat for Humanity. The chairperson will supervise the work of the committee, delegate responsibilities to accomplish its goals and report back to the full board.

Partner Family Education Coordinator: Assist Director of Family Services to create a comprehensive homeowner education program by researching needs of families, collaborating with other organizations and recruiting and training new education instructors.

Construction:
Site Development Assistant: Assist Habitat for Humanity with finding economically priced, buildable lots within the Chattanooga City Limits and Hamilton County.

Construction Safety Advisor: Ensure Habitat for Humanity provides a fun but safe working environment on the construction site. With assistance of the construction staff, evaluate current safety program and develop new techniques to maintain a safe worksite for volunteers.

Green Advisor: Assist Habitat for Humanity to become more eco-friendly! From increasing recycling at the construction site to researching energy saving techniques for the office, the Green Advisor will help the Habitat for Humanity to become a leader in the green community.
