Community Organizations, Foundations & Government
Community Organizations Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga offers civic clubs, alumni associations, professional societies and other community groups a unique opportunity to work together and strengthen organizational spirit while providing a tangible community service and helping a family in need. Opportunities range from providing a volunteer group on the construction site to sponsoring a home. For more information on sponsoring a home, contact John Lamb. To schedule a volunteer group, contact Dawn Stoike. Foundations Philanthropic foundations play a significant role in both HFHGC's house building program and in operations. Grants from private foundations support our capacity building efforts, help us acquire land and develop infrastructure, and assist with capital projects. Foundations support comes from large private and corporate foundations as well as smaller family foundations. Fore more information, contact John Lamb. Government Habitat is an independent, nonprofit organization that accepts some government funds and other resources to help provide houses for those in need. We accept these funds as long as they do not limit our ability to demonstrate the love and teachings of Jesus Christ. Additionally, affiliates insert specific guidelines as needed to avoid becoming dependent on or controlled by government funds. |
