Building houses for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area gives me the opportunity to work with a variety of people – individual volunteers, volunteer groups and our Habitat homeowner families.  The most meaningful aspect of my job is sharing the skills I have learned being in the construction industry for 14 years - the last 4 years here with Habitat.  It is rewarding to see people gain confidence and use the knowledge they learned on our job-site on their own home projects or when they come back and volunteer with us again.  I help homeowners learn skills that help them care for their house. 

For our Construction Team, the anticipation and excitement begins with the groundbreaking and continues through the building process to reach its peak at the dedication of a home when the homeowner receives the keys to their new house.  For us, it doesn’t end there, we are here to answer questions and support these families.  I enjoy my part of their journey to becoming first time homeowners.
